If you have or still suffer really bad with Migraines, I feel for you!
I started to get really bad migraines when I was 13, at first they were just now and then and I would have to go to bed then they I started to get them 2 a week and end up being sick and passing out and missing 3 days of the week due to being in bed so much.
They really got me down and I felt like they held me back with a lot of things, for example we went camping one day and I was so excited because I had never been before and it was with all my friends and we had planned it months before, but I started to get a migraine and was asleep in the tent through all of it!
I was being sick so much that I had nothing on me and I just felt drained all the time even when I had slept all week, I even went to the neurologist and had MRI scans just to find a solution because tablets weren't working. The doctors just said you suffer with Migraines, when you feel like you are getting one just go into a dark room and sleep. Best advice ever.... How am I supposed to go into a dark room when I'm in the middle of a class or exam, if that was the case I would have practically been living in a whole!
Luckily when I got to 19 they started to become less frequent and I only get them 1 a month instead of a weekly thing, but there's a downfall, now I only get them once a month they seem to last longer.
I got a migraine Tuesday and I still have one now (Saturday) I seem to have more neck pain than head pain but it still hurts. That's why I'm writing this post, to give some fellow migraine sufferers some tips on how I cope with them and hoping that they would return some.
Here are a few things that help me deal with migraines.
1. Sleep: I know its difficult as you can't just drop to sleep when you want but it really does help.
2. Getting over it: Sometimes I feel one coming and I just get over it by keeping busy, it makes me forget the pain and I can carry on with my everyday routine
3. Massage: My neck really hurts when I have a migraine and always in the same place, I had a massage once when I was Ill and it took the pressure pain from my neck.
4. Ice on your neck: going back to the neck pain, getting some frozen peas or anything cold and putting it on your neck can help, well it does for me.
5. Apples: I don't drink enough water which is probably what causes it, once I have a headache just because I start drinking water then doesn't make it go, but apples really help me (don't know why) I think its the sourness from them.
Hope these help you...., and if you have any tips and tricks on dealing with migraines please share because so many people suffer with them.
Thankies
